Running a de sexed male with a female in season

Is there a problem running a de-sexed male with a girl in season.  could he possibly attempt to mate her?? Our boy has been de-sexed for 2 years but is paying a lot of attention to our girl in season at present.

Yes he certainly could!

Yes they can still mate her and drive her crazy and some males just go bonkers being around a girl in heat which isn't fair

My 2 desexed males stay with my entire female when she is in season.  There is more humping than usual from all 3 towards each other but they've never successfully mated (I don't think the boys are actually attempting to, just humping, and I don't think she actually wants them to - she doesn't flag her tail them when she's receptive while she will if I scratch just above her tail base). They are both smaller than her so maybe they just can't figure out the mechanics.

 

I didn't leave them alone together the first couple of seasons, until I was sure they were all ok together though. So it may work but it may not, and yes they can actually mate, not just attempt it.

Yes they can and they can be injured as well. My desexed male is not allowed to run with my entire girl unless I am watching them.

Oh I never really thought of that...  I've never had a an entire female dog so I've never had to really think about it. Just assumed if they were desexed all would be fine.
