A Sydney man is accusing a local pet minder of animal abuse, after his dog was left with a 15cm gash across his neck and a life-threatening infection.

Probably the latter unfortunately. I've seen this type of injury many times and the majority have just been through ignorance. The others have been from allowing children unsupervised access to both elastic bands and the pet dog.

I hope the "carer" is prosecuted and never allowed to "care" for any animal ever again.
