Hi All

I would really appreciate some first hand experience from JS owners about the level of shedding I can expect, as there is a lot of conflicting general information on the internet.

My question is, will they shed noticeably outside of the shedding season? Thankyou..!

I know it's an old topic, but I thought I'd respond considering others may have the same concerns.

 

Being a first-time Japanese Spitz owner, I did think the breed was going to be difficult to maintain with the amount of fur they had. But in reality, it isn't that bad at all. And if you brush them once or twice a week, you'll notice less fur around the place. I'd be lying if I said I didn't vacuum more often, but it's not anywhere like you would expect with many other breeds. I don't find it gathering all that much and I notice it more after he has had a shake or itch.
