Rusky
A friends GSD 'Cassie' recently went to the bridge. Cassie was an old girl and her owner who still is an obedience trainer celebrated her 80th birthday a couple of years ago. I want to send my friend a sympathy note and I have seen owners here post the most beautiful picture of a GSD waiting at the bridge. I really would like to send my friend that picture but I have no idea where to look. Cassie was a fantastic dog and so funny as her owner would use Cassie as a demo dog for some excercises which was fine so long as it wasn't raining. Soon as the rain came and she was on a 'stay or wait' she would scoot off to the car and jump in the back to shelter from the rain, she was an elderly dog when she did that but it always made me giggle. I would also see Cassie and her owner just walking in the park, 2 dear old friends strolling along ;) I hope someone can help me with the gif. KOE
I don't know how they get that but your dear old friend can share Rielly's poem just change the he for a she, so sad about old Cassie one day they will be together again see if you can copy and paste the pic you are after. RIELLY"S POEM I was standing on a hillside in a field of flowing wheat And the spirit of a German Shepherd Dog was lying at my feet He looked at me with kind dark eyes ancient wisdom shining through And in the essance of his being his love shone clear and through His mind did lock upon my heart as I stood there that day And he told me of this story of a place so far away His tale did put my heart at ease my fears did fade away About what lay ahead of me on a distant day I live among gods creatures now in the heavens of your mind So do not grieve for me my friend as I am with my kind My collar is a rainbow hue my leash a shooting star My boundries are the milky way where I sparkle from afar There are no pens or kennels here and I am not confined But free to roam gods heaven's among my shepherd kind I nap the day on a snowy cloud gentle breezes rocking me And dream dreams of earth and how it used to be The trees are full of liver treats and tennis balls abound And milk bones line the walkways just waiting to be found And even is a ring set up the grass all lush and green And everyone who gaits around becomes best of breed For we are all winners in this place we have no faults you see And god passes out those ribbons to each one even me I drink from waters laced with gold my world a beauty to behold And wise old dogs do form my pride to amble at my side At night I sleep in angels arms her wings protecting me And moonbeams dance about us as stardust falls on thee So when your life on earth is spent and you stand at heavens gate Have no fear of lonliness for here you know I wait.
