leopuppy04
This is a fairly new product on the market which is getting some good reviews. Has anyone used it and how does it compare to similar supplements? http://www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/4cyte-canine-joint-treatment#.V9IBXvl97IU Thanks! Working Dog Lover
My 11 year old ACD is on it and it's doing him a lot of good. He still loves running with me so it allows him to keep doing that comfortably - a slow easy 9km on soft trails last week with no issues or soreness. Better results for him in my experience than Joint Guard or Cartrophen injections. I know two other people who have used it with similarly good results, and one person who didn't find it very effective at all - but they didn't dose correctly. The one common theme is what a pain in the butt it is to dispense with that silly little long spoon and getting the right number of balls on it. I get my kids to do it so it no longer bothers me. I've been told there's a similar product for people, keen to try that one for my creaky joints.
Podengo
We've been using it for a few years and I really like it, it's pretty popular with dog agility people in NZ :)
Scottsmum
We've been using it for a few years and I really like it, it's pretty popular with dog agility people in NZ :) Where do you get yours? I had a look online today (admittedly quick & lazy) but couldn't see a really obvious place online

I had a look online today (admittedly quick & lazy) but couldn't see a really obvious place online Vet Products Direct.......my injury vet recommended it, I believe it is better than all the other joint formulas.............cheaper to buy in bulk though if you can get a syndicate going

I did look around and wondered if my vet would order it in - I'm sure they would - but online is easier in some respects. *Edited to add - they're cheap! DAP difuser & refill is $11 cheaper than my usual online place - refills not any cheaper tho...* Edited September 10, 2016 by Scottsmum
trifecta
I have been using it for about 6 months upon the recommendation of a veterinary chiropractor for my 12 yo Belgian Shepherd. I have seen a marked improvement over just feeding a combination of fish oil and green lipped muscle. (She still gets fish oil with 4cyte). I buy off eBay, usually one vendor, sometimes The Vet Shed, Oveds or Vet n Pet Direct be offering a deal with cheap postage if you buy two. http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X4cyte+dogs.TRS0&_nkw=4cyte+dogs&_sacat=0 Edited September 11, 2016 by trifecta
westiemum
I'm on my second packet for my 15 year old Westie and I think it's doing her the world of good - better than Joint Guard. I hate that silly spoon too - so I just count out six balls and drop them in with her dinner.
poppop
Really liking it for my old girl with HD and arthritis. Better than any other off-the-shelf joint supplement she has been on. She does still also get her twice daily Carprofen and her monthly Cartrophen injections.
leopuppy04
Thanks guys - like here I have heard some very positive feedback. I'm currently giving my girls Rose Hip Vital - would you give both or is that over-kill? Cheers, A ETA - the price here is quite reasonable: http://www.thevetshed.com.au/?rf=kw&kw=4cyte Edited September 14, 2016 by leopuppy04

bianca.a
That price from The Vet Shed is really good! I just started my girl on it tonight. She will most likely need a THR in her right hip but it's not yet bad enough so hopefully this will make a difference along with her medications and other supplements. Fingers crossed and thank you for starting this thread! I was told about it a while ago but forgot all about it.
westiemum
Just resurrecting this thread - I ran out of 4cyte and Sarah missed out for a week or two. I finally got my act together and she started back on it on Monday. Because she had a gap, I'm giving her a loading dose for a couple of days before dropping her back again to the maintenance dose - and can't believe what a difference its made. She's walking so much better. I'm really sold on this stuff! Edited December 7, 2016 by westiemum

westiemum
SM can't recommend it highly enough. And the bag I bought earlier this week had a bonus 10g pack on it - so you could use the ten gram pack to see if it suited your dog and return the unopened 100gm pack if it didn't work for your dog. Boronia
Just bumping up this old(ish) topic WM as I had an email from 'The Vet Shed' and it appears there is to be a price-rise (or they said the price was going up, I don't know whether it is or not), they said they were still selling at the old price so maybe you and other 4Cyte-using Dolers are interested https://www.thevetshed.com.au/shop/dogs/dietary-supplements-medication/1105?cn=4246&rf=cn-&utm_source=Email+Campaign&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=41468-52253-February_3-Preview
