Rozzie
My new puppy arrives in 3 weeks. I don't know if I should get a second metal crate. Fern uses hers for traveling in the car. I have a soft crate but am reluctant to use it in the car. The metal crate also attaches easily to the puppy pen.
The Spotted Devil
Hi Rozzie - as a general rule I try not to use wire crates in the car as they may collapse in an accident. I have built in crates and otherwise use an airline crate. So that could be an option?
Papillon Kisses
I got my parents an airline crate for their puppy so they could use it in the car. :)
Rozzie
So, would you go for 2 or just one? And best place to buy please.
The Spotted Devil
So, would you go for 2 or just one? And best place to buy please. A little depends on what you can fit in your car, what size dog/puppy and whether they will travel together. My Spotty dog prefers a crate to himself but will bunk with Em. Once pup matured I would put her and Em together - so far that's working well. In the built in crates in the car they are all together but pups travel separately. Any chance of borrowing a spare from someone for a while until you work out your set up? Wire crates from Vebopet - tough and well priced. I think they sell airline crates too. Papillon Kisses
I got theirs from Vebo pets. Good reviews on DOL and good prices compared to pet stores... there are cheaper crates around but they don't seem to be as well made based on reviews. I also stalked Gumtree for ages but one didn't turn up in the size I was after. http://www.vebopet.com.au/dog/dog-cages-and-crates/
The Spotted Devil
I don't crate young pups with adults - adults need a break, pups need food toys to keep them busy and I've seen too many accidents and injuries to youngsters. Rozzie
I got everything for Fern from Vebo. She travels in the back seat of the dual cab. Will check out Vebo now, thanks.
