suziwong66
Doler's we're moving back to SE QLD in early July after being away for 16 years and would like to know your favourite vets. I don't know if we'll be in the north side or south side, but i tend to travel for good vets anyway. My favourite Brisbane vet is now located in Ballarat so I'm starting back at square 1. If you'd prefer to comment privately, please don't hesitate to PM me. Ideally, I was hoping to spay my almost 2 yo bitch before we left Adelaide with our own vet doing the procedure but that won't be possible due to other circumstances. So, once I have found the right vet, i'll get it done when we're finally settled. I have two labrador retrievers; I will need to start looking for vets as soon as we arrive as one of my furkids needs regular visits for meds and care management. Blackdog10
I go to animal options (desexed there, plus have a chiropractic vet who is amazing) but it's a fair drive but I'm willing to drive for quality - if I need something quickly/urgently I use house call vet. Had brilliant results with both. Perhaps worth a try.
Agility Dogs
We see a variety of vets for their sporting niggles, but our 'regular' vet is Greencross at Indooroopilly. They are excellent. I drive past one other Greencross and several independents to get there.
Cody
Old Mill Vets at Dayboro. I highly recommend them.
Little Gifts
Dr Susan Dawson, Anvet Kedron (the staff there are also amazing). She has a way of examining a pet without them realising they are being examined and she used to look after all the rescue pei for Peiradise and took on a lot of difficult medical cases for them. Link below. http://anvetkedron.com.au/Staff.aspx And Dr Sidney from BVH (see link below). Renate has been my vet for decades but she is doing less hours now and is very direct and not everyone's cup of tea. We've been transitioning to Sidney and he is very clued in on new medical treatments and strange animal health issues that require investigation. A very caring group of people, particularly when you are in a crisis with your pet. http://www.beenleighvethospital.com.au/meet-our-staff.html
mita
Jennifer White at The Glen Vet Surgery The Gap. Very experienced. Even when I worked at UQ with their brilliant vet hospital (& staff discount!), we still took our dogs & cats to Jennifer because she's so good. Answers the phone herself & will talk with you .... so you get a great foundation to make the best of any appointment. She's been a life-saver... only recently she picked up a congenital heart problem with my tibbie's daughter. Timely intervention from vet cardiologist she referred to... & that tib is set for a healthy life. Also recently she removed a basal cell carcinoma from head of tib next door. Managed it so wound line is in ear fold, so not even a scar shows & her ear sits perfectly. I've always recommended her to the tibbie pet owners .... who will come from many suburbs away for Jenny to do the desexing. She also keeps a mind to any natural methods for dealing with issues, if they're applicable. Also her fees always seem on the modest side to me. I'm not alone in sometimes looking at a bill & wondering if she's undercharged me. I don't begrudge one cent I pay her! Jennifer owns a magnificent German Shepherd herself so is equally at home with bigger breeds. Neighbour who owned & trained champion greyhounds, that he loved, travelled over to The Gap to Jenny because he trusted her totally. Boronia
Koala Park at Victoria Point (on the Cleveland- Redland Bay rd) excellent vets. Jo and Kevin's son Jed is practising there now and he is good. Their prices are also very reasonable. They have saved Penny and Mac eta...Donatella also takes her tiny little ones there Edited May 24, 2016 by Boronia
coogie
Depending on where you land and what you need I would second Susan Dawson at Anvet Kedron. We also use Burpengary Vet Hospital and would suggest Liz Morris or Bianca Cloet, although to be honest they are all good and have quite extended hours. Burpengary Vet Specialist care we use Brisbane Veterinary Specialist Centre - they also have a 24 hour ER BVSC Hydrotherapy we go to Canine Fitness Centre Canine Fitness Centre

karen15
I use Dr Leigh at Samford. She has been fantastic with cancer and other issues with my staffy. Also really liked Ron Woodhouse at waterworks rd vet Ashgrove. He did teeth extractions, eye ulcers and my duck :D lovely fellow.
ESCS
I agree with Mita that Dr Jenny White at The Glen Clinic is excellent and very reasonably priced. Our 7 year old tibbie is the one Mita mentioned that required heart surgery. She has had this condition since birth and we have used a number of vets over the years. Jenny was the only one that detected the heart murmur as it was a tricky one to hear. Both tibbies also had dentals with her and she did a great job at a reasonable price. I highly recommend her and we travel to see her.
