Guest crazydoglady99
I think this is pretty darn cool! Hopefully the first of many for Oz. And just another way to get rescue dogs on people's minds :-) http://www.canberratimes.com.au/act-news/canberra-life/ganggang-ainslie-fetches-spot-for-canberras-first-doggoods-bin-20160418-go8qlt.html
Scottsmum
I don't mean to sound like a poo-poo (I do think it's great) but similar set ups have been going on for ages. I was holidaying in Smiths Lake a few years ago and they had a drop off point for the local rescue at the door to the woolies. Telstra shops across a lot of Sydney take donations for Rescue Resource too. But yes - it would be great to see a lot more. I suppose you've just got to watch out for it becoming a dumping ground like human charity bins are :/ Edited April 19, 2016 by Scottsmum
Guest crazydoglady99
That's great! I personally haven't seen one before - so I was pleased to see this in the paper :-)
mita
That is a lovely idea! A Coles store near us had a 1 month project where there was a big bin that shoppers could drop in items for pets with a particular local rescue. When I was shopping there the other day, a number of customers were asking staff what's happened to the rescue pet bin. Sounds like a vote to make it permanent.
