MXR
Hi, I currently have a 10 week old husky who has had her first vaccination at 6 weeks. She's due for her second vaccination and I will be taking her tomorrow. As the topic asks, when will I be able to take her out for walks and such? I feel like she's not getting much socialisation, although she does go to puppy preschool every Sunday. Thanks.
Loving my Oldies
Others more knowledgeable that I might disagree, but I would say the sooner the better. If you live in an area where there are lots of dogs and lots of dogs being walked responsibly, the odds are that these dogs are being vax regularly as well, so your puppy should be pretty safe. I have to point out though that is a very strict rule of DOL that anyone who posts about a new puppy also posts plenty of photographs   Good luck with your new girl. Husky puppies are amongst the cutest
The Spotted Devil
I take mine out before I technically should - but be smart about it. Understand the risks of parvo in your area, don't go meeting any unfamiliar dogs and certainly don't go to dog parks. Lots of car rides (fun!), quietly sitting on a bench with pup on lap watching the world go by (very good for hearing and seeing traffic, people, sliding doors at the shops, dogs, bikes, prams etc without having to interact with them directly), regular vet visits for treats and cuddles and a very, very good puppy school would be my suggestions for a start. Pups get spooked by the oddest things - my youngster loved adults and kids but an adult carrying a kid just did her head in at first!
