Kirislin
Nekos puppies are just over 2 1/2 weeks and are already up on their legs and walking. I dont know if that is normal or if they're early developers. I'm still surprised when I see the boy toddling around up on his legs. 5F6A5409dppt by kirislin, on Flickr
Kirislin
I'm told it's normal. Been so long since I've had puppies here I'd forgotten, thought we had little geniuses.
The Spotted Devil
There's some real differences between breeds too (they are cuuuuute!!!) - Springer pups develop a bit more slowly - I couldn't believe what similar aged Border Collies were up to but my babies caught up well and truly. Overtook them even
Diva
Normal for my breed I think, at least it was for my one litter. I had one little rascal climbing in and out of the whelping box by 3 weeks. Edited February 17, 2016 by Diva
BlaznHotAussies
I had normal pups and a cleft palate boy - he was running around way earlier, I think about 2.5 weeks, because he was a lot smaller and lighter than the fat slugs in his litter I would guess the lighter build of your bubs would let them get up and running around earlier. My Aussies didn't open their eyes until 2 weeks (give or take) whereas I've been told of Border Collies that open their eyes at 6 days!!!
tdierikx
My experience is with crossbreeds, but have lots of it... and I reckon your little ones are ahead of the game with their walking and playing with toys... T.
The Spotted Devil
Yeah my little fat slugs were certainly not playing with toys at that age. Their eyes didn't open until very late either - which the breeder of my bitch told me would happen.
oakway
Some litters seem more forward than others. I read an article many moon ago that said puppies open their eyes X amount of days after conception not necessarily after birth.

How interesting - I will have a hunt through journal articles and see what I can dig up.
Christina
I think you have prodigies :) Some of mine don't even open their eyes until day 18, which is normal for one line. Cute photo.

huski
I always find the smaller pups will walk sooner because they aren't as heavy as the big boofers. I wonder if that's the same for toy breeds vs larger breeds.
Trisven13
I have 2 week old Fauve babies here and a couple of them are starting to get up on their legs in a small way and I fully expect by the weekend, when they are 2 1/2 weeks old, that they will be up and toddling. The stages pass so quickly and it surprises me EVERY time how quickly they are up and at 'em. I find once eyes open they just fly ahead.
