Dave-o
Not long ago I had a really angry consumer slating one of the Aussie pet food manufacturers, saying their food was crap and the person they spoke to at the company was very rude. It turned out they'd taken the kibble from the bag and put it in a plastic tub, and within a couple of weeks mold had developed. It gets very difficult as perhaps they washed the tub before putting the kibble in it, with the moisture causing mold to grow. On the other hand, if a bag isn't sealed properly by the manufacturer then the food can go off before being sold - that's something which happens to most manufacturers as it only takes a really small hole and storage in a damp or humid environment.
