skip
I put my door in and it is not really right on the bottom of the door. And up a flight of stairs. But i read to place the door so dogs could step thru. So the door fits the dogs body but not necessarily the height of the dog. And the screen door people said the dog door is.always right on the ground. Do others have doors fitted so dog steps thru. My door was ok for chi and chi x kelpie but the real kelpie has to b carefull. She bashes the screen door sometimes as she knows she can. But not the wood door. Found kelpie has bad hips so want to fix this.

I have a hole cut out of my back door and yes it does not go all the way to the bottom. It's starts about 6 inches from the bottom. It's huge to let the greyhounds in. They have no trouble stepping over the lip. It's as high as their shoulders.
