Diana R
There is a large puppy farm in the Western suburbs who breed JS and will fly the pups just about anywhere - they are called Chevromist Kennels. They don't have a particularly good reputation (quite the opposite actually) so I would advise AGAINST going back for another pup, but I'd say it's a strong possibility that your pup came from there given what you know about the history. jamesm
I have just joined the Japanese Spits in Australia facebook. Given it looks like Aki almost definitely wasn't from a reputable breeder, I doubt I would get another from the same place if I found them. Had I been looking purely for a puppy, I would have definitely gone down the reputable breeder path. When I was looking, I was more interested in adopting a slightly older dog - it just so happened that I met and fell in love with Aki. Thanks for all your help everyone! juice
Yes, i agree, you also get overseas students who buy cute pups to entertain them while they are here the get rid of them when they go back .
