Her Majesty Dogmad
Shame that all the idiots who let their own dogs and cats breed indiscriminately won't read this ....
Willem
...'What has caused this decline?' ...you can't communicate with dogs (and cats) via smart phones and Fakebook, that's the reason
Stressmagnet
Landlords don't like renting to pet owners. The housing market is priced out of reach for younger people. People are more selfish now and don't want the lifelong responsibility. Gawd. I sound like a curmudgeon.
Scottsmum
Landlords don't like renting to pet owners. The housing market is priced out of reach for younger people. People are more selfish now and don't want the lifelong responsibility. Gawd. I sound like a curmudgeon. This. Kind of. We can't afford a house - we spend all our extra money on the dog ;) We wont get another cat, or second (or larger) dog until we own. The responsibility is huge - as you all know but - for us personally - it's dealing with landlords and the associated cost of renting with a pet. It's bloody hard. trifecta
Blocks of land are getting smaller, houses are getting bigger and a lot of them have no yard to even hang the washing out let alone have room for a dog Also where can you walk them these days? I live in rural residential NSW, and even I am faced with the problem of developers buying up land and building on the site of walks I have enjoyed for the last 28 years
Two Best Dogs!
I didn't even try getting a dog until I bought a house. I had enough landlords "change their mind" on the rabbits that I didn't want to risk a dog. It took 10 years to save up for the house. Believe me if I could, I would have had a dog over a decade ago.
