JulesP
Butchers are usually happy to mince or even slice meat up for you. I've even had stuff like liver minced up. I know this is going to sound really dumb - but I haven't found a "real butcher" yet I went into a big chain one the other day - and it was just rows of freezers. Saw photos of another one online - same thing. No fresh food court in the shopping centre ... I'm sure the kind of shop you can walk into and order meat from a block with a wicked sense of humor exists - but I'm yet to find it. I would stop some friendly looking person on the street and ask. Or ask in the post office or some other local shop that doesn't sell meat.

Its a crap time of the year to be honest - I can't even get a volunteer gig until the new year - I thought the local SPCA would be like "hell yes - please come clean our kennels" but alas ... they're all too busy christmassing. Scottsmum
Quick update. I discovered that petbarn (animates) over here sells a few options at the right price AND so far he's been on their minced chicken frame medallions with no complaints or tummy issues - so looks like I was over complicating things :) Have been buying a few other cuts from the supermarket as treats but we're back into a good routine where he eats all his meal most days! And I have settled on abandoning full raw - it just wasn't working for us - try as I might.

Scottsmum
:) good update . Hope you get some sort of work soon . Thanks Perse - we needed to pop into spotlight for a specific thing yesterday. I've been avoiding it like nothing else (it was torture - so many bargains) but they had a "help wanted" sign up - job not advertised online - so I'll pop back in this arvo and maybe I could get a job there - then I'd spend every cent on material ... like a kid in a lolly shop...
