Kavik
I imagine they would be great as 'Hollywood dogs ' in that they could play wolves without actually being one . Much easier to train a dog than a real wolf . Over the years I have seen enough malamutes and huskies being used as wolves to see there is a need for a more realistic looking dog . Gorgeous animal . I've even seen GSDs being used to portray wolves. Funny! Me too! The least they could do is pick something that looks vaguely realistic and wolf like
cannibalgoldfish
but wolves come in black so would be interesting to see why that colour can't be used for breeding. and White/cream...
Akayla
Rook! I do love this boy. He has a super gorgeous personality. Well actually so does Balto (another Tamaskan) who's owner is a member here too :) I am super jealous you got to meet him! About being so many males, two were imported at the same time wanting boys and the others moved here with their boys. I will see if Balto's owner wants to come answer some questions :)
Kirislin
I think Balto and Rook are litter mates? Could that be right. I seem to recall her saying his name.
Akayla
I think Rook is Balto's uncle.
kyliedelonge
Yes Janet you're right, rook is baltos half uncle. The boys were imported to Australia together.

Kirislin
Beautiful dog. So long and lanky looking. yes, he was very rangy looking, alot like the photographs of wolves I've seen. She kept him pretty lean too, which I think is a good thing on such a large framed dog. Lablover
Fascinating. Quick google for information on the breed suggested 500 to 600 dogs, and they have closed the stud book? Why? Very small number of dogs.
Akayla
The stud books are not closed.
