Rozzie
No idea where to start as the only website I had no longer exists. And what sort for a baby puppy? Edited September 9, 2015 by Rozzie
Diva
Easiest way is to drop into a show and try a few at the vendors there. Otherwise facebook has lots of sellers, or there are websites like bigdogleads. What type of lead depends on your dog, and also its breed. I used a simple paracord for my previous 2, but that would be too harsh for a dog that pulled on lead or wasn't very responsive. I will probably use a fine snake chain on my current girl if I ever get around to entering a show. Edited September 9, 2015 by Diva
Rozzie
Thanks for the reply. No shows near here in the foreseeable future. She is a Mini Foxie. Currently weighs 1.7kg.
Diva
So maybe a very fine jewellery link chain and a braided satin or paracord lead, or a fine martingale. There are satin martingales for very small dogs but probably more toys than terriers. Bowhouse sells show chains online. You can get fine chains down to 2mm. I would ask your breeder what she uses. poocow
Thanks for the reply. No shows near here in the foreseeable future. She is a Mini Foxie. Currently weighs 1.7kg. I'm guessing you mean Tenterfield Terrier? I would go with a fine snake chain
Rozzie
No she is a registered (with the MFCA) Mini Foxie.
Salukifan
Rozzie, I suggest you buy a simple paracord show lead with a ring in it to start. They are cheap and washable. Then, if the bug bites, you can go for something fancier. Online, Pet Network are great. Something like this would be a good starter. In hounds we buy the lead to match the dog. Not sure what the ettiquette is in the MFCA.
Rozzie
Thanks. She is tan and white. Washable sounds good.
Diva
Be careful using the paracord, it can be harsher on the neck than a chain if the dog is a puller
poocow
Oh ok sorry didn't know they had shows for them. Are there any ANKC shows out near you that you could pop into as theres bound to be a vendor there. Fine snake chain or paracord sounds like the best bet.
