luffy4688
Hi, I have a friend who's getting a new schnauzer puppy in the next few weeks. It's been so long since I've had a puppy, and I've honestly forgot the usual do's and don't etc. If anyone here could link me to some useful websites for a first puppy owner, crate training and also for feeding raw, that'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Edited September 9, 2015 by luffy4688
Yonjuro
This is free download called "Before you get your puppy" is quite good by Ian Dunbar, there is also another free download called "After you get your puppy." Lots of great ideas on toilet and crate training amongst others. http://www.dogstardaily.com/files/BEFORE%20You%20Get%20Your%20Puppy.pdf Edited September 9, 2015 by Yonjuro
Mrs Rusty Bucket
everything on youtube by kikopup - Emily Larlham - can use the word "yes" if you can't stand the sound of the clicker - for most puppy skills. https://www.youtube.com/user/kikopup Crate training - Susan Garrett's dvd is still the best thing - tho with a puppy it might take more than one session to complete stage one and that's ok. http://www.agilityclick.com/prod157.htm
Dogsfevr
The breeder should be giving the new owner a diet sheet & they should be discussing the feeding routine with them first & foremost after all they now there own puppies & what they thrive on .The breeder should also be informing the new owners about the dos & don'ts that are benefical to the breed (whether its a Std or Mini) Whilst raw is great please be aware that many breeders guarantee there puppies on the diet feed for the first 12 months unless a diet change is discussed. if its a Mini then feeding raw needs to be more thought out .
