Amber Not Eating

Jules P I feel your pain. We all have our fingers and toes crossed that this is just a blimp on the radar.

My Scoota has been off his food in the morning, and each day I would go to the supermarket trying to work out what else I could try to get him to eat, so that I could get his heart meds into him. What worked was me taking him into the training area and asking for a hand touch or a sit and he would happily eat the treats I gave him that he had refused half an hour earlier. I am thankful that 11+ years of training reinforcement has its benefits. smile.gif

I tried hand feeding the kibble but she just gets upset.

She scarfed the Goodos that the postie feeds her a couple of hours later  She really thinks they are amazing. Maybe I should get a bag. At this stage I guess it doesn't matter if she eats stuff like that.

I hope Scoota picks up too. Have you tried baby food? Amber thought that was pretty good.

What he eats one day, he turns his nose up at the next and like you, I am of the mindset I don't care what he eats, as long as he eats. I haven't tried baby food yet, so I will add that to the list.

He is doing OK at the moment and has just polished off his entire evening meal - so we celebrate small wins and will tackle the issue again tomorrow at breakfast.

I know how hard this is - sending hugs your way

I’ve just read through this, JulesP. What a tough time you and Amber have been having. I am pretty sure you suggested Pediassure to me in my “Danny” thread. I didn’t have to try it because Danny did start eating.

Maybe I should get a bag. At this stage I guess it doesn't matter if she eats stuff like that.

Having had months of trying to find something that Danny would eat with him losing weight drastically, I really agree with this. If they like something that is not going to create problems for them, I believe in letting them have it.
