Gretel
I have a young girl here having her first season. She's nearly 2 weeks in and more swollen than any other I've ever seen. The vulva is open and I can see what looks a bit like a bubble there. She's quite happy but I've not seen any like this before so I'm a little concerned! Any advice please! Gretel
Thank you for the replies. Yes we've been to the vet. She's had an anti inflammatory injection, antibiotic injection and has a stitch in her vulva. Hopefully this will all help! I'm keeping a close eye on her and back to the vet in the morning. I've never experienced this before after many years and lots of girls in season. Poor little girl

Kirislin
Is it pyometra? I hope she's going to be OK. You must be feeling disappointed that you cannot breed from her.
Gretel
It's uterine prolapse. I have her on breeders terms and her breeder will be very disappointed but the vet considered her condition life threatening. It's a shame as she's a really lovely girl.
