Risks Of Worming A Pregnant Bitch

For those who don't worm their pregnant bitches, have you had an adverse reaction in the past?

I have a bitch 6weeks pregnant, have been advised by vet to worm at 6wks, however have read many varying opinions on if and when to worm when pregnant.

I was advised by a vet to worm at 2 weeks and then at 7 weeks...

I have always wormed before mating and then after whelping

Picked my own vets brain over this and was advised they had never heard of this practice

If you are concerned about worming her, take a sample to the vet for a fecal count. If she has worms then you can think some more, if she doesn't you don't.

So I decided to worm her at about day 58ish, she went on to have her pups on day 61ish. They are 9 days old now, so it will be interesting to sed if the pups have a worm burden at all, when I worm them next Sat, at day 14.
