He has set up in an area where there is alot of money and designer dogs, its a huge growing area. He is not stupid, he is after the custom of oodle owners, so saying it was a staffy and they are banning them will be aimed at that market.

I agree, he should have just said sorry, he didnt know what happened and he will review running of the free range etc etc, instead he has tried so save his own ass, lied continually, and his followers are nasty pieces of work.

None of the dogs in any of the photos looked remotely oodle.

Sorry for poor little Wags who was let down by everyone.

People are garbage, plain and simple.

I still want to know where he and all of his staff get their supposed 'qualifications' from.

From his website:

"In addition to years of experience, David has a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services - Behaviour and Training"

May 28th 2015 is when photos were posted on his page of his team getting their Tafe certificates (including Dave): https://www.facebook...?type=3

The courses teacher workers at Farmer Daves. Farmer Dave gets all the students who have to meet this criteria "You must organise access to an animal shelter/pound, boarding kennel/cattery animal behaviour or training consultancy/facillty, veterinary practice or equivalent for at least 5 hours per week" who want to do it with him...free labour...nice.

The course modules are as follows:

ACMACR403A Identify and respond to animal behaviour

ACMCAS301A Work effectively in the companion animal industry

ACMCAS302A Provide advice on companion animal selection and general care

ACMCAS401A Manage compliance in the companion animal industry

ACMCAS404A Develop enrichment strategies for companion animals

ACMCAS409A Provide training advice to companion animal owners

ACMCAS410A Conduct companion animal training classes

ACMGAS301A Maintain and monitor animal health and wellbeing

ACMGAS306A Assist with conditioning animals

ACMOHS401A Maintain occupational health and safety processes

ACMSPE304A Provide basic care of dogs

ACMVET411A Prepare, deliver and review animal care education programs

BSBSMB405B Monitor and manage small business operations

With 3 modules out of 13 related to behaviour/training, It's hardly a 'Behavioural & training' course as he states his qualification is, however it does have some good modules in there he should have learned about better management of his facility.

Mis-leading the public seems to be something that sits natural with this facility.

I think I have the correct facebook page (Farmer Dave Dog Centre), not much flack on it but I did see that there is going to be some sort of 'fun day' and someone has written:

Yes please, I have 2 Irish wolf hounds that need to be a bit more social so would love to hear more.

yep, that'll be fun

eta: insert rolley eye man

Negative comments are deleted and posters banned generally.

Coz nothing sez FUN!! like two unsocialised wolfhounds in a pack full of prey!! Whee!!

Sorry - couldn't help it. Sadly, that's how people think isn't it...

Why would someone want ONE unsocialised IW, let alone two

I have yet to be blocked and I was my usual blunt self. Maybe he's practising avoidance because all the comments after mine are negative as well.

I'm strangely still there too, mind you have only said 1 thing but it was blunt.

Hmm based on wag's condition

ACMACR403A Identify and respond to animal behaviour - fail

ACMCAS301A Work effectively in the companion animal industry

ACMCAS302A Provide advice on companion animal selection and general care

ACMCAS401A Manage compliance in the companion animal industry - what?

ACMCAS404A Develop enrichment strategies for companion animals

ACMCAS409A Provide training advice to companion animal owners

ACMCAS410A Conduct companion animal training classes

ACMGAS301A Maintain and monitor animal health and wellbeing - fail

ACMGAS306A Assist with conditioning animals - fail

ACMOHS401A Maintain occupational health and safety processes - fail

ACMSPE304A Provide basic care of dogs - FAIL

ACMVET411A Prepare, deliver and review animal care education programs

BSBSMB405B Monitor and manage small business operations

I'm not sure what compliance in companion animal industry is - but I'm pretty sure that letting one animal kill another one in your care through neglect or lack of adequate supervision - would breach animal cruelty laws?

I accept that occassionally things can go terribly wrong when looking after animals of any sort. But I honestly could not forgive myself if it happened to any I was entrusted to look after due to my negligence or lack of adequate supervision. That was someones companion and beloved family member.

I had to put my puppy in doggy daycare for a few days when I first got him (unexpected circumstances), and it was awful. The owner was rude and condescending. The first day I arrived, I carried my puppy in and there were about five other large dogs running around in a fenced area (the dogs were much bigger than my pup). The dogs started jumping around trying to get to my puppy, and the owner demanded that I put my pup down amongst the dogs. She said he would be fine and that she would be there to "break up any fights". She then had the nerve to tell me to "stop stressing so much" as the dogs were "constantly supervised". THEN she said "you are the reason your dog has anxiety issues, he picks up on your tension". I had to bite my tongue and really felt like picking my puppy back up and walking out of there. Maybe the anxiety issues was because my puppy didn't want to play with those massive dogs??

Luckily my pup was fine, but that night when I picked him up he vomited up a large piece of torn leather!!!So much for "constant supervision". On the third day I picked him up, paid the fee (which was excessive, by the way) and got away from there as fast as I could. I feel sick to my stomach thinking about how I left my puppy there, it really gives me chills. And this place had good reviews! Just goes to show you just can't trust some people. Certainly taught me a lesson I will never forget.

You were lucky your dog wasn't harmed by being bowled over by large dogs. I think I would have just walked out that first day you went there.

oops FD got caught in a lie again. Has said that he has decided not to be part of the Dog Lovers Show but the truth is that he was uninvited...

Perhaps just stop lying and making yourself look like a right goose?

They say on their FB page in a couple of places that it was his decision.

  • 4 months later...

Just saw on facebook that the RSPCA will be charging FDDC with a number of items relating to Wags, Fansu (a dog who was missing for about 30 days over xmas and an animal known as Gabe - who I know nothing about.

From what I can see;

Aggravated cruelty upon an animal (Wags)

Fail to exercise reasonable care (wags)

proprietor of animal trade not comply (wags x 2) Animal known as "Gabe" x 1, Fansu x 1
