PossumCorner Posted April 10, 2015 Share Posted April 10, 2015 Sunrise from the kitchen window earlier this week - not the landscape that travel adverts are made from, but reliable if there is cloud (which is not too often). The derelict silo 'next door' is about 100 metres from our house, it gives a great cooling shadow when needed as well as being an icon of past glory in the cropping country. Even the railway lines have gone since the last grain-train ran, sad the way some great infrastructure has been abandoned. This one is of the silo at Sunset, in the last electrical storm that passed across (taking its rain to Castlemaine or somewhere else of course). Ozstar love those big skies and Canetoad the long straight dusty roads are almost beckoning to me, the lightning on the silos is just spectacular, you must have been wrapped when you got that one PC and Perse you live in such interesting country, it's always good to see it. I'm not much of a landscape person but I should be, I live in a beautiful part of the country. The only one I can think of that's on flickr is one I've shown before, from Christmas day about 3 years ago Christmas Day Storm by kirislin, on Flickr oh hang on found this one. I saw the mist rolling in creeping down the distant hills and raced out with my camera. It was very dark, happened so fast I didn't have much time to get the shot and it's underexposed. I've never seen this happen since, although now I'd have trouble seeing those hills because so many trees have grown up since. I love the way you really take in everything and there's no rush and you are surrounding by the wonderful things in nature (and the not so wonderful, mozzie spray is a permanent addition to my camera bag :laugh: ) It truly makes you be in the moment. :) I took this one a couple of night's ago. It was getting dark and I was on my own. Need to take a buddy with me next time.
