Vomiting Boston Terrier

Hello,

We purchased our Boston Terrier in October 2014 and since we've had her she has had this persistent problem with vomiting. We've finally found a dry food she can keep down but she vomits after every time she has a drink. She has had countless blood tests, x-rays and ultra sound with no result. Her food and drink bowls are raised as instructed by the vet. Even more alarming is on occasions straight after vomiting she seems to have a seizure but it's not like your text book seizure. Its more like a cross between a seizure and fainting or losing balance and falling over and kicking her legs not being able to get up. The longest one of these episodes has gone is only about 5 seconds. One vet we took her to thinks the vomiting triggers the seizure but is still stumped. Has anyone heard of similar situations? I hope someone can help.

Did you contact the breeder? I haven't heard of this type of situation before.

Yes contacted the breeder after first vet visit but they were very defensive and didn't really want to know about it.

Have you tried another vet/specialist?

I wouldn't settle for no diagnosis when something is clearly wrong. Maybe a rec in your area?

I would take her to another Vet/Specialist ASAP. I know you say you have taken her to several Vets already but there is clearly something very wrong if she is vomiting & seizuring on a regular basis. She obviously is suffering. There has to be a medical reason for this abnormal behaviour. I would not give up until I got answers.

Why do you think the breeder was so defensive about it? That's pretty poor if they breed the dog & they just don't care???

Sorry this is happening. Poor little puppy, he must be feeling so poorly :( Must be extremely worrying for you.

Has she been checked for megaesophagus? I know someone whose dog has this, similar symptoms, managed by feeding and giving water tothe dog in an upright (beg/sit pretty) position (she made a special thing to help hold the dog in the correct position for this).
