Loreley
I have been asked if I know anyone that can assist these two lovely old souls. Ages 10 years, 1 male, 1 female, both desexed, vaccinated etc are in need of foster care or permanent placement. Original owner was put in a position where she had to relocate to a new rental property that doesn't allow animals. They could potentially be separated but it would be better if they could be homed together it possible. They are currently on the RSPCA waiting list for surrender but given the amount of puppies and pregnant mums they currently have in care at the moment time will run out well and truly for these two because they have been told that they have to wait until 2 spots become available. They are currently in care with a relative in a rental that also doesn't allow animals so time is very limited. If they can be placed before having to do the pound thing given their age it would be awesome. Is there anyone that could potentially take 1 or both of these guys? I can provide photos in the next day or so if that helps.

JRT RESCUE
Yes Photos, where they are microchip, desexed, vaccinated and on heartworm treatment.
Loreley
I've been told that the male (the lighter one) attacked the female last night, the owner's son is seriously considering putting the boy down. He had to literally prise the jaws apart. So we would be looking for a nice home for the dark girl if anyone can fit her in??? From what I can gather neither dog has been socialised with other dogs or cats so that would need to be taken into account. They are both desexed, are fully vaccinated, microchipped (Canberra). Unsure about heartworm. The fight was the last straw, both dogs are headed to Canberra Pound so if there is any assistance you can provide JRT Rescue that would be great. Her Majesty Dogmad
JRTs can be like that Lorely, if people don't quite understand them it is alarming of course. An old boss had 2 JRTs and they did exactly what you described - she said they used to pick them up and drop them in the pool - it was the only way to get them apart. Not all are so excitable as JRT Rescue will tell you but they need to be properly managed and perhaps it is the case that the owner's son isn't that experienced with the breed? Best leave it to JRT Rescue to assess them I think, I hope the male isn't put to sleep. Edited April 5, 2015 by Her Majesty Dogmad
JRT RESCUE
I will watch the pound site, but am pretty full at the moment but that could change by the time they are due out of the pound. Very sad for these two.

BarbedWire
It looks like the boy in Y31 at DAS. He has been transferred from the RSPCA. I don't know where the girl is. http://www.tams.act.gov.au/city-services/pets/keeping_dogs_in_the_act/lost,_found,_impounded_and_wanted_dogs/impounded_dogs?sq_content_src=%2BdXJsPWh0dHAlM0ElMkYlMkZ3d3cuZG9tZXN0aWNhbmltYWxzLmFjdC5nb3YuYXUlMkZJbXBvdW5kLmFzcCUzRkFjdGlvbiUzRFVQRF9JUCUyNlBvdW5kSWQlM0QzNjAyNyZhbGw9MQ%3D%3D
JRT RESCUE
that doesn't look like the same dog.
BarbedWire
I thought the head marking between the ears looked similar. The photos are of different sides of his head so it is difficult. Perhaps I am wrong. I don't know how you would check.
JRT RESCUE
Yard 31 looks a much younger dog and is tan and white as the older boy in the pictures looks like he is a tri colour as he has black on his face.
BarbedWire
Maybe you are right. You would know more about them than I would.
