*Avanti*
A pair of senior Hungarian Vizslas at Lort Smith (Melbourne) are looking for a forever home together. Arrived: August 6th, 2016 Gender: Male, age: 10.5 Years (Senior) & Female, age: 11 Year (Senior ) Size: Large Breed: Hungarian Vizsla We are Paytas and Kata, pronounced 'Pie-tarsh' and 'Cot-oh'. We came to Lort Smith a few weeks ago and, now that our honey moon has ended at the Lort Smith resort, we are looking for our new forever home. We would love to join a family that knows about our nature and can account for our needs, which is filled with lots of love, cuddles and kisses! We will also need an experienced owner as Paytas can be quite excited out on walks and will need some more socialisation around other pooches. I, Kata, too will need some confidence bulding around other dogs, but you may find that I am more confident with Paytas around. He gives great comforting kisses! We havent been around cats before so best if we go to home without them. Edited August 6, 2016 by LabTested
Papillon Kisses
I'm not in the position to get another dog, but I always love reading the Saturday Senior. Golden oldies are so precious. Thanks LabTested (and others) for highlighting them. :) Edited August 6, 2016 by Papillon Kisses
BarbedWire
There is an old staffy at DAS 10+ in need of rescue by tomorrow 5pm. This is the link that tells you about how he ended up at the pound And this is the link that tells you about his temperament testing I saw him earlier in the day and he was afraid of my two small dogs and I have wondered if he was just trying to go home. I so hope he finds safety.

*Avanti*
This gorgeous 8 year old girl will need a special committed home due to pending health issues. http://www.lortsmith.com/adoption/1151/141/hoshi/ Arrived: September 1st, 2016Gender: Female Age: 8 years (Adult) Size: Medium Breed: Labrador Retriever Hi there, my name is Hoshi (Japanese word for 'Star'). I have gorgeous golden locks, shiny brown eyes and a curious nature. Don't let my age fool you - I still bounce around like a puppy! Whilst some describe me as an extrovert, I consider myself a down to earth girl. I love going for walks and napping with my human. I want nothing more than to feel safe and happy in my forever home. If you shower me in love and affection, I'll reward you with my loyalty forevermore. **I may have right hind cruciate disease and spondylosis of the lumbar spine so I will be adopted with a disclaimer. This means there is no reason to operate now but there may be in the future.** Please don't let this put you off! Come and meet me so I can show you how wonderful I am. Edited to update; Hoshi has been adopted. Edited October 9, 2016 by LabTested

This is what that Club says on its website under Rescue Service when dogs are needing a new home: CONTACT the HVCV Rescue Service and we will try to match your dog with a suitable person on our waiting list, and/or work with the Rescue Services of interstate Vizsla clubs who also maintain waiting lists of potentially suitable homes. Hi Mita, They have been adopted, presumably together. The Lort Smith only seem to have a few dogs at a time, ones that were surrendered to the hospital. http://www.lortsmith.com/adopted/1112/170/kata/ http://www.lortsmith.com/adopted/1113/170/paytas/ Edited September 3, 2016 by LabTested

Her Majesty Dogmad
We are a day late but i have a few seniors that i've rescued, looking for homes. Here's Roxy - she's 8 yrs old and weighs about 10 kilos, slightly porky right now but full of life. Roxy is fully housetrained and is a typical Jack Russell - loves to hunt for rats/mice, doesn't like cats and is pretty dominant with other dogs so best suited to a single dog household. Roxy can also sit, shake paws, drop and roll over!!
Her Majesty Dogmad
Murphy is an 11 year old terrier cross that i rescued from Renbury in July, i could pick him up with one hand as he was skeletal and could barely stand. He's endured many years of cruelty and neglect and may have some ongoing issues as a result. Currently he weighs 12.5 kilos and he's all terrier. He's quite strong and although his front legs are a little deformed, he can walk, jump and run with no pain or issue. He's fully housetrained and is good with my other dogs but would be best with a non-dominant female. He often cuddles up with my Italian, he's her secret boyfriend! He is good with the others though, male and female.
valbitz
Porche is a 14 year old Afghan looking for either a permanent home or a permanent foster home. I have met this lovely lady and she is quite sprightly for her age. If you know anyone interested they can put an application in via Pet Rescue. https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/571485
*Avanti*
It's a late Sunday post but I thought this adorable pair of Pomeranian X were worth a mention. They think it is a mother and son, 'Lucy' and 'Puppy'. I hope they find a happy caring home together: http://saveadog.org.au/animals-adoptions/dog/all/2082/ http://saveadog.org.au/animals-adoptions/dog/all/2081/ Edited September 17, 2017 by *Avanti*
Her Majesty Dogmad
We at Iggy Rescue are helping a dear little Italian Greyhound girl aged 10. Tuppence lost both her owners within 12 months. Family took her in and gave her a much needed and massive dental, so common with the IGs. She's got 10 teeth and probably will lose them gradually over the next few years. Wonderful with other dogs, housetrained and loves a walk and a under the doona snuggle - this girl is awesome. She's just over 4 kilos!!

stellnme
Tuppence will be coming to live with me! Stella has been gone a year at Christmas - I think she would approve. Nervous and excited at the same time. 8
