BarbedWire
Sadly the old girl Y4 has had her deposit fall off so she is again in need. Fingers crossed for her. Only has until Tuesday 3.00pm. See DAS thread in urgent rescues. YARD 4 Female Crossbreed Age: 10 + years Cage/Handling/Health - She came and sat for the lead to be put on. On the way to the yard she did a wee and very sensitive to any pressure on the lead. She has fly bitten ears and has what looks like a bit of a flea allergy around her rump. She is a little underweight, she seems to be lacking some muscle tone along her topline. She is incredibly responsive to any correction. She was happy to be handled Training - She knows sit, walks well on lead, drop and stay. She kept sitting in the heel position and will lean into the handler for reassurance. Wheelie Bin - She was unsure of the bin and sat and leaned into the handler for reassurance. Food Guarding - She walked away from the bowl as soon as the hand went into it. Dog to dog - With Yard 32 Vinnie she was really good and wanted to play and became more animated. When Vinnie was being silly she told him to behave himself but nothing sinister. Fence jumping pen - She did look at the top and attempt to jump however she is not as young as she used to be so she was unable to do it. She became stressed in the pen. Description - This lovely old girl is a loyal lady that wants to be with her people. She loves to be cuddled. She has great basic training and is great on lead. She at times seemed confused by the commands so we spoke to her in different languages and she responded most to European languages. She is underweight and has lost some muscle tone along her topline also. She is good with other polite dogs and actually became quite animated and playful. She is a gorgeous old duck that is so deserving at her loving home to live out her twilight years. Edited May 31, 2015 by sarsaparilla

HazyWal
Isaac is 11 years old and listed as a Lhasa Apso X. He has ended up at the shelter through no fault of his own and is suited to a more mature household, he is unsure with close handling but would love to curl up at your feet this winter. This dear old man is waiting at the RSPCA Yagoona in Sydney. http://adoptapet.com.au/animal/animalDetails.asp?animalType=3&state=2&searchTypeId=4&pagesize=15&task=view&tpage=5&searchType=4&animalid=431270 I can't upload a photo as it says the file is too big Isaac has been adopted Edited August 2, 2015 by HazyWal

CrazyCresties
These two 10yr old cresties have been surrendered in Perth, I so wish I could take on more Please spread the word if you know anyone looking for a crestie or two :) Two tiny little poppets surrendered. They are not young and Maud [in the bright pink coat] has only one eye. At present they are understandably frightened in their new surroundings. They must be homed together and apparently are efficient climbers so secure, solid fencing will be required.Once they are assessed and Vet checked they will be available for adoption together. http://www.apswa.asn.au/dogs/maud-and-fi-fi-female-chinese-crested-10yo

CrazyCresties
Thanks Dogmad, I've shared on a couple of the crestie pages but everything will help ???? I'm not sure if they do interstate adoptions, but it wouldn't hurt to ask if someone is interested.
Her Majesty Dogmad
This is Hozier, he's an 8 yr old male Whippet type who is in foster care with me, having been rescued by Iggy Rescue a few weeks ago. He's in Sydney but can be rehomed interstate, pref. with a female Whippet for company!

I did contact the shelter to find out a bit more about them, they are extremely timid and have lived in kennels all their life The lady I spoke to at the centre was lovely but not familiar with cresties, she's doing a good job with them though and she has them in a crate inside the shelter rather than being in the kennels. One of the girls has been shaved and I explained to the lady that the dog would be a hairy hairless - she was quite surprised to hear that not all cresties are hairless, she thought someone was trying to trick her by shaving the dog, bless her heart :) The usual adoption fee is around $400 per dog but it's expected that the girls will have a slightly reduced fee due to them having to go together and also being seniors (they may also be older than 10 years). They will consider interstate adoption if there are no local offers - there has been some interest in the girls but nothing definite as yet. I'm trying very hard to practice grown up impulse control here ..lol. I'm no longer running my rescue group so if I took them I'd be on my own. It's very hard for me to look past a senior crestie in need. The girls may be harder to rehome due to their temperament (they're not just timid, they growl too). I'm not sure what the universe is telling me to do here, I've misread some signs a couple of times recently, so I'm trying to step back and see if I'm meant to be involved here. The best thing for them would be to have a local adoption but if they are still looking for a home in say two weeks then I will have another look into it.
