Kirislin
I'm not a show person but I think my puppy Neko will go better for me than she does with her breeder, even though he's a really good handler so much as I'm not keen I have to give it a go. What I found yesterday was that I need comfy shoes so I can move without pain. I've got really big wide feet and it's difficult to find comfy shoes. I seem to live in crocs but they're not very nice in the show ring. I didn't wear them in the ring yesterday but the shoes I did wear hurt like hell. I need something that's as wide and comfy as crocs but looks decent enough to wear in the ring. Any suggestions?
RuralPug
I'm sure that you''ll find something suitable AND comfortable AND supportive in the HomyPed range. Shop online or look up your nearest stockists.

Shop online or look up your nearest stockists. I wear those sometimes. Since the knees were remade, I have gone to Rivers and got leather flat sandals. I take a size 42/43 and find them fine. I looked online but cannot see anything about their price. Can you remember what they cost, although I would imagine they've gone up a bit since you bought yours. OSoSwift
I use sketchers with memory foam. I have a wide foot and these are a bit rounded so don't squash my toes. They were very comfy
Airedaler
I have short fat arthritic feet and wear substantial orthotics. I also have arthritis in my ankles and risk them giving away without notice at any time. I wear New Balance sneakers in the ring, I have some nubuck ones and some black ones which look a little dressier than the white. As far as I'm concerned it is more important to wear what is best for my feet than what looks best and if my winning or losing comes down to what is on my feet then the judge is looing at the wrong thing. I agree but I just felt that wearing crocs into the ring was disrespectful to everyone, including the dogs!! They're just too scruffy, even though I wear them most of the time. Anyway, I've been out today and bought 3 pairs of shoes. I'd intended to go to Eastland and visit Athletes foot but didn't get that far, the thought of the Christmas crowds put me off. Bought some homy peds from a chemist and 2 el cheapo pairs from Kmart which might need some inner soles added, not sure, I'll see how they go. At least I'll feel like I've made a bit of an effort and hopefully they'll be comfy enough that I can show my little girl off to her best advantage. I want to say 190ish but cant be sure. I norived the shop I got them from doesnt appear to stock them any more. Might be worth calling their head store in Melbourne and confirming orice and a local stockist

I was forced to go look for sandals as Horrible Herbert had dinner of two sandals. Here's their AU site http://www.naotshoes.com.au/ 20% off and free shipping. 2nd page has some prices. Wondering if I should indulge. :)
meggie
Another yes for Naots. Also Ara, Rieker & mostly European brands. They all cost so I only buy in the post-Christmas sales, usually at the specialist shops like Mountfords or our local Hunters. MBTs are great for me, but very expensive (& probably an acquired taste). I take a 40 wide & like something smart but comfortable & all these labels fit the bill. Also, find it's worth looking in Naturalizer shop at Spencer at DFO when I go to Melbourne. Skeetchers shop there too. Some good bargains & a bit cheaper. Really enjoy reading about the life of Neko, so looking forward to seeing more next year.
VizslaMomma
A wee bit more enabling. RIVERS have a 40% sale for Club members. Earlier I got x2 pairs of real suede leather boat shoes for $10.00 each. They work OK for winter shows.

Kirislin
I'm so glad I asked about shoes, thankyou all. I have 2 pairs of cheapies for now, one of which I might still return, not sure. I'll keep the others, they're terrific, but I'll keep my eye out for some of the brands mentioned and definitely look for the sales. I'm showing Neko today that's why I needed them quickly as I still have a bandaid on my heel from the last pair I wore over a week ago for about 20 minutes! Thankyou Meggie. Lately she's had some bad luck just before shows, being trodden on by my mare just 3 days before the Royal, (although she still won her class ) then being stung by an ant just minutes before she went in the ring so she bunny hopped around the ring poor baby. She's also had some kind of issue with her lower back, probably from being pummelled by her boisterous brother as a puppy and I've spent a small fortune trying to have it diagnosed and treated. I think it's starting to come good now, although I'm noticing something else seems amiss, so we will see how she goes today.
