Always worries me about applying cream to these types of sores.

With the Vizslas, I have always felt it increased their time to recove.

I prefer the dry the site type of procedures as others have indicated.

:(

Creams can be breeding grounds for bugs and these sorts of wounds are best kept clean and open with a drying lotion applied.

I had a dog once chew a spot like that onto her leg. I too thought hotspot but once she was treated by a chiropractor the dog stopped chewing and the sore went away. The vet(chiropractor) said it was a pain spot that the dog was chewing to try and get rid of it.
