Loving my Oldies
Always worries me about applying cream to these types of sores. With the Vizslas, I have always felt it increased their time to recove. I prefer the dry the site type of procedures as others have indicated. Creams can be breeding grounds for bugs and these sorts of wounds are best kept clean and open with a drying lotion applied.
*kirty*
Rain scald is fungal I believe. Think hot spots are more bacterial? But not really sure.
Mrs Rusty Bucket
I really should get some of that purple spray - next time I'm in the shop for rubber curry combs (seem to go through about 3 of them a year - teeth marks).
Rebanne
I had a dog once chew a spot like that onto her leg. I too thought hotspot but once she was treated by a chiropractor the dog stopped chewing and the sore went away. The vet(chiropractor) said it was a pain spot that the dog was chewing to try and get rid of it.

Recheck tomorrow. Thanks all for comments. Im not convinced its a hot spot, but don't have enough experience to guess what else it might be. Kirislin
Looks so much better. Is this just using the neocort as per vets instructions?
