Registration Papers

We got our pup from the breeder last Sunday and were told that they would send the limited register papers to us once they received them from Dogs NSW. I was just wondering is that normal? And how long would we normally be expected to wait?

Depends when they sent it off and how busy DogsNSW is. I think DogsNSW gives a 10 day average once they receive the forms, then they will post it back to the breeder, then the breeder will probably post it out to you.

It's pretty normal, especially if choices on which puppy is going where and on which register are left to closer to 8 weeks.

I got my boys papers quicker than I expected, about 2 weeks later, but some have taken a while longer.

Depends when the breeder files them.

Last January we picked up a puppy from Queensland. The offices were closed for the holidays.

We waited nearly one month.

So there's different factors to affect delivery.

On behalf of the DOL tragics, may we see a photo of the new baby, please?

:D

post-51311-0-36734700-1417820410_thumb.jpg this is our little Otto miniature schnauzer 9 weeks old tomorrow, we have had him for a week. I carry him in a beach basket to the local beach cafe, then he sits on a towel eating treats, bring watched by his big sister Abby. He gets lots of attention from passers by - I am trying to get him to experience lots so as I have a well socialised dog. thumbsup1.gif Edited by Birgitbee

Oops! I had not looked carefully at your user name.

But this is SO neat ( for me) to get to see another photo of your wee man again.

Like I said, he is adorable.

I received mine a few days before my puppy flew over to me :) Ronin arrived to me on 2/1/14 so paper work can be done in a timely fashion over the silly season and our breeder wanted to make sure there were no hold ups during this busy period.

We also received a full on puppy pack with a thick folder containing sire and dam health tests, puppy vaccs and worming schedule, family history and photos. Plus heaps of advice. There were also two dog toys, a collar and the next worming tablet

I guess this an extreme end of the positive scale

No it isn't .

Chances are the breeder like many does not microchip at an early age ,until pups are microchipped they can't be registered .

We don't do our puppies until 8 weeks & then paperwork is submitted pups have gone before paperwork comes back unless we decide to do fast track (same day) but we only do that in extreme cases .

Your wait hasn't been long but in all fairness it is better to ask the breeder than them read it on forums .

I think this is excellent service on the part of the breeder. Way more than what I would imagine. Perhaps because the dog came some distance to you but even so I can imagine you were very happy with this.

My breeder did the same. As well as a puppy pack, we got to bring home a bed AND an unopened bag of RC puppy food.

I had been in contact with teh breeder for over 2 years. But the experience was great.

And I got a monster, oops a wonderful puppy.

Exactly right :)

I'm waiting on pedigrees at the moment for a litter who are almost 11 weeks old.

I submitted the paperwork just before the pups turned 8 weeks - between waiting until they were microchipped and working out which puppy we were keeping, we couldn't submit the registration any earlier.

All of our puppy people have been told what the situation is, and that we will forward their pedigrees by registered mail just as soon as we receive them.

All of our puppy people also received puppy packs very similar to the one that you received, Yonjuro. A puppy pack like that should generally be the rule, not the exception.

OP, if you're concerned about the pedigree, then just contact your breeder and ask :) I would certainly hope that any of our puppy people would feel comfortable enough to approach us directly to check on the progress of their pedigrees :)

erm, okay, well I thought it was pretty great. Mine was microchipped at 6 weeks along with a full vet check. I said it was at one end of the scale, not something I would expect as the norm.

Thanks I was very very happy :) The local people also received the same with their puppies from the litter.

Excellent, and yeah I am in contact every week since I got Ronin. Not only did I get a wonderful puppy that was 95% toilet trained, I made a friend out of the breeder who has been wonderful :) It's great to hear VM that you have had a similar experience

TBH< it was the whole reason I waited.

Mind, on reflection I sometimes say woah! Why did I do that. That's just light humour. Not 10 mintues ago, he just stood and looked at me. His stance was the spit of his dog Momma.

Made me smile

:)

I agree with what you are saying. All I was trying to point out was that mine happened very quickly and everything exceeded my expectations. Not that anyone needing to wait a bit should be concerned. I would generally expect papers around 5 weeks. 4 weeks to have them done and one week for postage. I also don't think the OP needs to be concerned :)
