They tend to like hiding in their holes and waiting for bugs and stuff to come close. This is only the second one I've seen at my place in 15 years of living here. The last one I saw was a BIG female loitering outside my front door about 10 years ago - she got stomped too... *grin* Their holes can get flooded after heavy rainfall, so you my get really lucky to see one out and about then while they wait for the tide in their hole to recede.
