tdierikx
We have a fire emergency happening at Warrimoo/Blaxland... I hope any DOLers over that way are all safe and sound... Sounds like it has the potential to get a lot worse before it gets better. Still out of control and getting larger. And the weather isn't set to turn until later this evening. T. Nicquistar
We are only a couple of km from the fire. It is on the other side of the railway line & the Great Western Hwy from our place. Firies are worried the southerly change expected tonight may push the fire in a different direction. Keeping our fingers crossed.

tdierikx
Latest update... Watch and Act - Greens Rd, Warrimoo (Blue Mountains LGA) 2014-11-15 05:54 Posted: 2014-11-15 05:54 A Watch and Act remains in place for residents in the Warrimoo and Valley Heights area due to a bush fire burning. The fire has burnt almost 60 hectares. Current Situation Easing conditions overnight have allowed crews to conduct backburning between Greens Road and Florabella Street. This will continue throughout the morning, with increased smoke and fire activity visible through the area. More than 220 firefighters continue to work on the fire. ------------------------------------- Last night's southerly buster was pretty ferocious - very windy conditions, even though it was much cooler. Hats off to the brave men and women out there fighting the fire! T.
Shelby
Glad things have eased a bit and hopefully it conditions are better today for all those living in the area and fighting the fires.
tdierikx
What is encouraging is that the fire only consumed 20ha more overnight - and a portion of that would have been back burns... firies are tops! T.
