Kobi'sDaisy
Hello all We recently moved to Canberra earlier in the year and as the weather gets warmer we are looking for some camping spots where we can take the dog. I like to fit in a spot of surfing so will be looking at somewhere along the coast. Looking at the south coast (Nowra/Batemans Bay) all allocated camping spots are in the National Parks. Does anyone know of any spots that are State Forrest or otherwise that are suitable? We don't need much, just a spot to pitch the tent! - Not looking for a caravan park. Happy to drive up to 3 hours :) Thanks! *edited for caravan parks Edited October 31, 2014 by Kobi'sDaisy
Bjelkier
I always head down to Bermaguai. It's stunning down there with plenty of dog friendly beaches and most of the caravan parks allow dogs. Not sure about any state forests, I'm pretty sure everything is national park around there otherwise.
kelpiecuddles
You could google Tomerong State Forest, just down the road from me and I've heard there is bush camping(no facilities) in there. It's on Jervis Bay rd which is heads straight to the beach. Edited October 31, 2014 by kelpiecuddles
trifecta
One word of warning about camping on the South Coast - ticks! Make sure you & your dogs are well protected :)
