BC Crazy Posted September 8, 2014 Share Posted September 8, 2014 Riley was hilarious when I brought Quinn home, he was soooo excited and he kept looking from her to me with wide eyes like he was saying " oh my god you got me a puppy!!" :laugh: Oh that is so sweet. My boy was exactly the same when he realized that Stella was actually coming home with us. He was like, 'Wow', thanks mum. My very own BFF :laugh: The look on his face was priceless... I wouldn't make a big deal out of introducing them, you don't need to rush into doing it either and try to make them best buddies on the first day. But I also wouldn't run a puppy with my adult dogs, they are only together under supervision, and with dogs I know are appropriate with pups. My goal is to have a dog that doesn't have a high value for other dogs and is generally disinterested in them, so other dogs never become a distraction or something they want to invest in. The Spotted Devil Posted September 8, 2014 Share Posted September 8, 2014 My dogs are SO fed up with the pup I have at the moment - she is very bold and in your face so she is learning to be alone outside for a bit, alone in her crate for a bit, run with the adults under supervision and engage in lots of one-one-one training sessions. But I've had a temporary male Springer pup before too so I'm experienced in handing them back. grumpette Posted September 9, 2014 Share Posted September 9, 2014 OMG, Zeph would love to move to your place. Balls on tap. He loves the orange with blue stripe Chuckit rubber balls. Yes he has a preference. Don't ask (rolly eyes). He weighs 46kg and his collection of balls would be around 80kg. Do you have a dam, river or water course that he could swim in daily? He needs to be cable tied into any crate. The metal ones he uses his head to push the roof up, his front paws to pull the wall down and he is out. All without making a sound. Or he pushes on the door until he can squeeze out. He can also use his nose to lift the latches on his sister's crate and break her out. Hence she is desexed. Do you still want him???
