BC4ME
I am buying a new DSLR camera and I have narrowed it down to 2. I have Nikon lenses so I am staying with Nikon. I am upgrading from a Nikon D60 and have a fair bit of an understanding of how to get a good shot and what the camera workings are. I would class myself as a bit more than an amateur with the camera but no where near a pro. I like taking photo's animals in motion and people when they don't realise they are being photographed ie candid shots. I have done lots of reading and Utube watching and need to decide which camera I want. My decision is between the Nikon D7100 and the Nikon D5300. In comparisons they are very similar. I was going to purchase the D7100 but it seems a bit big in my hands and a little heavy (even without a lense) I have on going shoulder problems. I also like the D5300 it s smaller and lighter and feels nice in my hands. Not sure which one to get. Anybody have either of these cameras that could give me some feedback? :)
gapvic
I have a D7000 and recently upgraded to a D800. I have had focus issues with the D7000 since I purchased it - it is in being serviced at the moment and I'm hoping that they will also fix this issue. I believe that this is common with this model but the D7100 may be different :). I like the D7000, but I LOVE the D800 :)
huga
The D5300 will be a step down from your D60. I'd go the D7100.
piper
Can't help with the camera choice but i have shoulder issues too. Best thing I did was go to a black rapid shoulder strap and where it across my good shoulder.

grace
I went from a D60 to a D5100 and have been happy with it. It's (was) far more advanced than the D60 as well as being a lot faster and lighter to hold. It is nearly time for me to up grade and I to am tossing up between D5300 or the D7100 but then I have a feeling there may be a D7200 released very soon. Ah the complications of life. Why can't life be simple...  I think I will go with the D7100 even though it feels big and heavy I think I will get used to it pretty quick and I think I will end up disappointed if I don't buy what I really want this time. :)
