Weekend Dog Sitting?

Any good ideas for weekend dog-sitting?

I could kennel, but not familiar with local ones.

Would only be Sat morning to Sunday night.

We could safely leave him for that long in backyard.

Main concern is barking if we left dog for weekend, even if neighbour/friends came over to feed and walk him.

He's usually crated overnight, indoors.

Not usually that cold here, overnight.

Is more to prevent barking at possums, kangaroos etc.

He's still an active youngster and a chewer if bored.

Have friends I could ask to leave him with, but concerned he might chew/ destroy something valuable i.e. cost more than a kennel!

He's boisterous with other dogs, too, so might be disruptive.

Last time took him to a friends place, he ran around like a maniac, up and down stairs etc. (not great for growing large breed).
