Yonjuro
I am posting this request that I received from a UK based Husky Forum. The request is from a UK resident who has a friend here requiring the service. I hope to get some recommendations that I can forward to the person. "Are there any members who could recommend a reputable husky trainer for an over excitable 3 year old male husky in Melbourne ? His owner went to one but felt they were quite rude so he's looking for a friendly place to help him out. He's only had the boy about a year, he is a rescue." Yonjuro
I received this reply when I asked about what problems the owner was having, please note that I am a middle man here so I have had no direct communication with the owner and the following quote is from the Husky lady trying to assist. "He says his dog is aggressive towards other dogs, but I've asked "in what way?" and it seems he's just very excitable, but has never bitten or anything, just jumps toward the dogs with ears & tail up. He did mention it may be dominance but all the answers come back as over-exuberance! lol" It sounds like pretty normal Husky behaviour to me - albeit behaviour that could do with being toned down. The owner probably needs help and education in understanding behaviour better. I am pretty sure he is getting "Husky advice" from the lady, but the internet is only helpful to a small extent. I think Cosmolo would be great and is he/she sees this post I would really appreciate it if they think they can help by way of formal lessons?
