Loving my Oldies
Dogs like sleeping in a "nest" of bedding .. Very true. I put throws and donuts beds for the dogs on my bed of an evening. Takes as long to get the bed ready for the dogs as it does for me to get ready for bed. LOL.
cavNrott
Glad it seems to be nothing serious . give the vaccine a week or so to work properly - just remember before then to get puppy used to collar and leash - to NOT pulling on leash when you walk him around the yard , and practice "sit" , etc :) . as for meeting "nice dogs" ... please do NOT take him to a dog park as a puppy - there are way too many things which can go wrong Oh, and to help him like the kennel - pile in some opshop blankets ..or a couple of 'fleecy' blankets from a" $2 shop ".Wash these first, then have them on your couch or bed for a couple of days , so they get your scent on them - this way , pup will find them something of comfort :) Dogs like sleeping in a "nest" of bedding .. Very good advice perse. The kennel looks to have no bedding in there at all. The puppy needs some soft bedding so please take the above advice and put some soft bedding in there for him. I bought some soft blankets from Kmart for about $5 each. I don't want to keep on about the subject but nothing has been mentioned about the status of the worming and it's very important that the puppy has been wormed. He will need to be wormed once a month until he's three months old, then once ever three months. It's good to know there are no ticks where you live. There are none where I live either. ka89
4th days update: We played with him this morning we thought he get used to the environment already and he knew we are his new forever friends. We put the food inside his house and he only get in when he needs to eat/drink, maybe he needs more time. We are going to buy somethings for him, blankets, puppy kong and "get off to my garden" t prevent he eats the plants/flowers as suggested. We probably upload a short video of cookie and his backyard setting. This is what cookie done yesterday.
BC Crazy
That is a great 4th day update Ka89. Look how far you have come in just 4 days. Well done to you. Cookie is going to feel so much better for being wormed Im guessing. There isn't really any need to put the food or water in the kennel. Just wait till you get it all cosy with the blankets then see how Cookie goes. Also when you get the Kong for him. Simply put something yummy in the Kong. Give Cookie a little lick then lure him into the kennel with it & he should stay in there to finish his Kong. That should get him started :) Edited July 12, 2014 by BC Crazy

tdierikx
I love his name... Cookie... suits him to a tee... lol! If you can find some VetBed, I reckon he'll like some of that in his kennel... my dogs all fight over the piece I have here, they love lying on it so much. T. Mrs Rusty Bucket
If you have an old tshirt you could wear a bit, and then put that in his kennel... that might help. it possibly smells like varnish at the moment.
cavNrott
Excellent ks89. He's been dewormed. I was a bit worried about that because you hadn't mentioned it but you have everything under control. I'm glad you came onto this forum for information. Cookie will benefit from your newfound knowledge and you'll enjoy him so much more knowing you're doing everything right :)

juice
I wouldn't buy expensive bedding till he is much older, chances are he will chew it and drag in around, especially anything with foam, tends to end up shredded everywhere
Kazhak
To be Honest I would advise once your pup has had full course of Vaccinations that you take him/her to puppy class & get it socialised with other dogs.. very glad to hear that the bloody poo problem has cleared up.. your puppy wont go into the kennel unless you encourage him to do so by playing with your pup using some food rewards in the kennel to get him to go in there, just leaving a pup alone & expecting it to understand what the kennel is, is not going to get it in the kennel..
