Juan61
Hi everyone, my apologies for the subject matter however since she is only my second dog (and I didn't have the first one for very long unfortunately), I am asking for your help, being that you all seem to be experts! My little girl has woken up with a swollen gunky eye; it was suggested I bathe it in salt water, is this ok? Should I be looking at vet treatment or try myself first off. Many thanks Juanita
korbin13
For a swollen and gunky eye, I would be off to the vet. Salty water would sting, I would have thought?
persephone
Hi - is the eye swollen a lot ? Can you post a photo? usually injured/infected eyes are best checked by a vet ..in case of a foreign body or something happening .
Loving my Oldies
VET! Immediately. You don't mess around with eyes. Might be nothing, might be enough to end up with your dog losing it.
Dame Aussie
Yes if its swollen I'd be off to the vet.
VizslaMomma
VET! Immediately. You don't mess around with eyes. Might be nothing, might be enough to end up with your dog losing it. I agree. Have the dog checked as soon as possible. All the best.
Salukifan
Yep, definitely a vet visit and don't delay. You don't want your dog to lose the sight in that eye.
cavNrott
Agree. Off to the vet today. A used warm tea bag gently rested on the eye may bring some relief from pain or discomfort while you await your vet appointment.
OSoSwift
Vet, it is not worth mucking around with eyes.
