They are new to dog owning and also have a 14 year old cat who is OK with the dogs they have minded. They want a Medium sized dog. Criteria is: * housetrained * not too active * easy care coat * good with cats * good with other dogs of all sizes Husband works from home and will walk the dog every day. I went through Petrescue and didn't come up with a lot of suitable dogs, they are very inexperienced so I think they will need a very easy dog and I can't seem to find one! I'm going there tomorrow to do a yardcheck and show them my dogs (which are all small and they are sure they don't want a lap sitting dog). I took 4 dogs with me - with different type coats as they don't seem to know the difference. They thought they might like Dougal (Pom cross foster dog) but he is quite challenging and I don't think he'd be right for them - he's ex puppy farm and has health and other issues that are ongoing. I let him off the lead and he did what he did wherever I take him - set about trying to escape. He doesn't do it here and never has, I think he's decided he's staying LOL. Agreed, but I think wife has decided she wants a fluffy. Took my trusty Italian Greyhound with me but explained they would definitely not suit LOL. With a 'fluffy' comes shedding, the need to keep brushing out undercoat & maybe professional grooming. Denise at PAWS has a pretty 'fluffy' (shih tzu x), just come in, named Elizabeth. Fostercarer has yet to describe nature & needs. Going back at least 25 years ago, I was at the Vet's. A man was there with his two racing dogs. One of the dogs was black & beautiful. The other was a grey & just as beautiful.. Owner gave me the OK to touch them etc. I am busy patting the grey after 1st patting the black.... The black ever so gently leaned against me & looked at me saying more for me please. Yes Stan is a lazy hound but my Maddie is like the energizer bunny, she would suit an active family and would make a great jogging partner which unfortunately neither Stan nor I are interested in :laugh: and yes greys are chronic leaners and most love affection.
