Urgent Help For Great Dane At Renbury Farm

Recommended Posts

I just saw on facebook that there is currently a Great Dane, 6 yr old male at Renbury Farm as the owner had surrendered him.

Thought I'd post incase someone can help him as it mentioned that he does not have much time.

Someone on facebook said they had advised Great Dane Rescue. It maybe worth contacting them again just incase. Does anyone have their contact details?

Send a PM to sas here on DOL, she is Great Dane Rescue.

We had been in contact with the pound.

What I find incredibly frustrating is Gumtree posts I presume are being made by groups like Pound Rounds that say things like GOING TO DIE / BE KILLED on (insert date) - this dog was never at risk of being euthanised, we had let the pound know we would take him if not adopted. All this does is create an emotional response from people - I fear because of this, this dog has been adopted by someone emotionaly charged rather than going with logic.

This dog looked like it has Entropian and a Skin condition and on-top of that may not have been socialised > not the kind of dog you adopt on an emotional charge, especially not a giant dog.

If you see a Purebred in a pound please contact their relevant rescue to let them know, in most cases we will move heaven and earth to help.

Are you even allowed to post on gumtree/pet rescue dogs for sale you dont yet own?

They make it seem like it's the shelter themselves, I have nothing positive to say about these people who play on peoples emotions to get dogs adopted potentially into very unsuitable homes.

Thats no good SAS I hope whoever adopted him is an experienced Dane owner. When I saw him on my facebook page I just thought I would put something on dogz online about him rather than ignore it.

If you had your rescue group's name on him, sas, why wasn't that on the Renbury website, I wonder.

Not that I was looking at the website which I very rarely do anymore, just this thread caught my eye.

Knowing Renbury, I would have thought they would be up to the mark and would not want misrepresentations of their intentions regarding any animal.

So reprehensible of people such as Pound Rounds. :mad

it wouldnt be the first time Renbury has left a name off a dog. I was working on one for a while only to find a rescue that could take the dog and when the rescue went to put their name down they said someone already had but it wasnt on the site. Another time a rescue was told they couldnt put the name on the dog until its holding period was over which I found odd.

I'm not finding fault with Renbury - on the contrary. Things can move pretty quickly at shelters and can take a while for the website to be updated.

No idea, you'd have to ask Renbury.
