Whippet Missing In Canberra

I found this on the DAS missing dogs description for a Whippet: WITH LENGHT OF CHAIN WITH A PEICE OF WOOD ATTACHED can you believe anyone would have a Whippet chained up let alone attached to a piece of wood.

Poor dog, that's no way to treat them. Whippets would freeze outside in Canberra.

Just a thought but school holidays have started in some areas, wondering whether someone might have been holidaying with their dog and pushed a wooden stake in to the ground to tie the dog to while they were stopped somewhere.

A Whippet chained up outside in Canberra would freeze to death. I wouldn't leave a double coated breed outside in a cold climate Don't blame him for running away.

I went and checked the listing to see if I should be keeping my eyes open, but it is the other side of town.

I have heard of people putting a short length of wood attached to a collar to deter chronic escape artists, it is a very old solution for incorrigible jumpers. I wonder if it was something like that. I am not supporting that approach so don't jump down my throat.

doesn't sound good, I hope they find him. He could get caught on something.

He might not have been chained for long periods, perhaps they were visiting somewhere and he couldn't go inside, I dont know, but there could be any number of reasons why he was tied up. I've tied my whippets up at times.
