Absolutely, yes.

Errol St, Nth Melbourne, good coffee and a popular hangout for dog owners.

Here's Katie with a waitress at a favourite cafe :)

I'd never visit this cafe. I'd rather my flat white without worm eggs, hair or anything else.

Surely the waitresses handling the dogs couldn't be legal. I don't mind a dog at a cafe but to actually have staff pick them up and pet them while they're on duty!? So very wrong.

We often take our dogs to cafes for weekend breakfasts or dinners. Hornsby has some very dog friendly cafes where they even bring out water bowls for the dogs. I usually get loads of compliments from the staff about how well behaved my dogs are.

Which cafes in Hornsby?

Cafe Olive near the Tab and Peking restaurent near Blues in the Hornsby Westfield Area. If you go further up to Mt Ku Ring Gai shopping centre, Crofty's serves a great dinner and you can sit outside with your dogs.

I love seeing well behaved dogs out and about with their owners. We don't have many dog friendly cafes out here, but I do take my dogs out with me frequently. When I stop at the super market on my way home from work I often take Wiz out of the car and play with her at the shops to have some fun and proof her training in different environments.

A couple of nights ago I was training her at the shops and a man stopped to watch and said, "Sorry to interrupt you but I just have to say what you are doing with the dog is REALLY GREAT! I couldn't do that!" LOL :o

When I was in Europe I loved how dog friendly it was and the dogs I saw were overall so much better behaved than dogs we have here. I am sure a large part of it is how dogs are welcome in more places and its common for people to take their dogs out with them.

You need to visit Kurrajong village Huski :) everyone brings their dogs along. All the dogs I have met are well behaved and socialised. One of the cafe owners has a lab called Ruby who comes to work with them daily, she mooches about and supervises :) Really dog friendly area.

We take our dogs to our local cafes, I take one at a time though so we can just chill. On the weekend we had Billy with us, we met a red and tan kelpie and a little old chi at the cafe. They all behaved and interacted beautifully and totaly enjoyed each others company. Ruby the lab also joined us :)

The waitresses at my local cafe love to give Hank pats. They only do it when the cafe is quiet (which is usually the time when we're there) and I've seen them go straight to the back afterwards, presumably to wash their hands. Not a big deal IMO.

I am more disturbed by the recent proliferation of portly 50+ gentlemen who seem to believe it is imperative to wear a full suit of lycra, to ride a mountain bike a kilometre along a cement seaside path; so they can flop around in the cafe for a couple of hours. Quite put me off my sausage.

:rofl::rofl:

we have those here too coogie. I call them the spandex brigade

 classic

I must be weird because a waitress cuddling a dog would not worry me at all :o in fact I love watching or experiencing those things.

For anyone in Sydney, Kurrajong Village cafes are pet friendly, the coffee and food is great :)

There are a couple of lovely parks (not offlead) one has a pretty creek the kids, dogs and I love visiting.

Kurrajong is a high tick area though so make sure you treat/check your dogs if you wander through the bush.

I do. My boy Chazer has been going to cafes since he was youngish, so he loves it and just mainly lies on his side and is well behaved (was trained to, not by chance), we do walk before and after though. Lots of people love seeing the dogs there

I'm sure the waitress has gone straight back in to wash her hands, as she's wearing an apron there are probably heaps out the back she could change into.

When it's quiet even the baristas come out from behind their bench to come and pat Nova. They go wash their hands straight away.

If they have dogs themselves they probably give them a pat before they walk out the door, I know I do, but that's why soap and hand disinfected was invented. I'd be more worried about what you catch on a trolley handle.

 Do that soon. I will visit. There's a 'proper' place at Leichhardt that does the puppycino. (Maybe closer to Haberfield?)

Totally good vibes for an outing.

I said earlier in the thread I am a bit Oscar the Grouch-ish with dogs at cafes. I should add overall the humans let the side down.

One very behaved GSD at Our Haus Café at Hawthorne (Brisbane). We have also visited White Jam I think its called near Hendra. She loves lots of pats especially as she could con anybody walking past the footpath at Our Haus. We will be trying some more at some stage when she has finished dropping coat cause I don't think they would appreciate that (GSD owners will know how bad they are when they lose it its endless). There is quite a few that accept dogs around Brisbane now unfortunately none close to me and one out Bay way cant remember if its Wynnum or not no longer take pets even though it says so on the net so check first.

Wow I didn't know the public transport laws in VIC were so much different. I think in NSW dogs are only allowed on ferries? But I've read they often turn people away who have dogs.

That's a shame. I only use the train for convenience sake but I imagine there are a lot of people with pets who do not.own cars nor have friends or family to drive them in an emergency. It would never happen but it would be good if you could sit a test similar to therapy dogs to be approved for public transport and then pay for a membershipmembership/ticket for the pet which allows them on certain forms of public transport. Obviously buses and trams are no place for a large dog but it would get rid of the irresponsible and inconsiderate pet owners who would try to use public transport. I don't know about you but Id much rather share a train with even an annoying dog than a loud, abusive and rude junkie who smells like piss and cigarettes, demanding spare change off people whilst also fare evading....

No animals allowed on Sydney (NSW?) trains, not even tiny ones like Yorkshires in travel bags! City buses are ok, but not country buses.

Don't see any problem at all with big dogs using public transport. Why shouldn't they? If public is so concerned about safety: make muzzle a condition. But as long as people pay fare for companion, it should be allowed. Works well in Germany/Europe.

And waiters touching the visiting pets? Who knows what else they are touching. As long as they wash their hands afterwards...

I take Pepper EVERYWHERE (obviously not to doctors, supermarkets etc). He is clean, well behaved and my Buddy! There...
