Some vets will give human prescriptions for drugs with a human equivalent. They are generally much cheaper at a chemist.

Thanks, but the problem is our current vet won't give out scripts even though we asked nicely.

Our vet at the animal referral hospital will give us a prescription with 6 repeats which we use to order online. We do need to have a consultation every six months to get it though. They don't charge much for the consult but they did do the original, very expensive, investigations which led to the prescription.

I agree it is much cheaper to get medications online

One of my dogs has an auto immune disease and I buy his tablets from California pet pharmacy in the states.

They require particular things to be included on the script which my vet doesn't have a problem with but he does charge $15.

He fives me five repeats so I then order six lots in one go so I only pay one freight charge.

We have been doing this for three years, the only draw back now is the Aussie dollar is dropping :(
