Pretty Miss Emma
I have 2 BC's and they are so much easier to groom when they are on a table! At the moment I get my trolley out and pop them on there to groom, but I'd like to get a grooming table as I'm setting up the side of my house as a grooming area (the hydrobath is out there already!). I want to spend the least possible on getting one and will happily wait to save up the money, also happy to get a second hand one - they just don't seem to appear often! But can you please help me out... Firstly what size would be best to buy? I don't envisage ever owning dogs larger than BC's. What brands are good brands? And what sort of prices would you expect to pay both new and second hand? And where do you find them?!! I've been searching ebay and the classifieds on DOL, what stores though or other online places? Thanks in advance!
sheena
I have just got a very strong folding table 1m x 1m which I bought from Bunnings & I have a large non-slip mat on it. It seems to be just the right height for me & when I am not using it to groom the dogs I can take it camping
piper
Go to Bunnings and buy a suitable piece of ply. They come in pre cut pieces of 900 x 600mm then find where the trestle legs are and buy a set of folding trestle legs. Then go to where they have the carpets and stuff and but the pyramid matting and finally find a suitable adhesive. I made mine that way years ago and it works well. It was really easy to do as well. Mind you these days they have half size trestle tables that would be perfect and just put something non slip on them.

That's all I have got...a half size trestle table ( 1m x 1m & it folds in half) with a large non slip mat on top. Because the mat is not glued down, I can take it outside & shake it :) The size is perfect & fits the dog plus all my grooming stuff on it as well. Cost me about $50 all up. Airedaler
Crazy sales have one for $109. These are sturdy and IMO very good value There is also an eBay seller who sells these at maybe a little more than this price but postage is free. I'll see if I can find the link for you. Oz-Auction - this one (90cm long) is $115 with free shipping. If you want the 120cm long one it is $124 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/90cm-Dog-Cat-Pet-Grooming-Table-with-Adjustable-Arm-/390535651470 One thing I will say is that IMO it is a mistake to use a table that is too big. You need to be able to comfortably reach the dog from all sides and this also teaches the dog that they cannot move around as much.
