CrazyCresties
Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD This is on my shopping list :D It looks like early orders are being received already so looking forward to seeing a good range of sample shots from it. For it's price it has super focal length and looks like a relatively 'cheap' entry lens for birds etc. December 13, 2013, Commack, N.Y. - Tamron Co., Ltd. tdierikx
1.95kg... getting to the top end of my hand held capabilities... *grin* Nice price on it though! I'll probably stick with my Canon 100-400mm L though - 1.3kg is much easier for me to flap about... T.

CrazyCresties
Yes I know which is why I'm not rushing into it, but I have also seen some superb shots from it. At the end of the day you get 600mm and VC (IS) for approx $1200 - it's never going to match a lens costing 10x that amount, but it will be fun to play with :) eta Interesting review comparing it to the Canon 600mm f/4 in the field - http://theamazingimage.com/wildlife/field-test-new-tamron-150-600mm-super-telephoto-zoom/#prettyPhoto Flickr group - http://www.flickr.com/groups/2470447@N21/ POTN Samples - http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1348082 Discussions - http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1340733 Edited February 5, 2014 by CrazyCresties
tdierikx
See... now here's the rub... I have a Canon 60D - so it's a 1.6 crop sensor... which means I'm getting around 640mm already at the far end of the 100-400 L. If I had a full frame camera, I'd probably seriously consider the new Tamron 150-600... but not on a crop... Then again... the crop will get me around 960mm out of the Tamron... aarrgghh! T.
