Kavik
My OH's cousin's partner was walking their Staffy X yesterday and the partner was attacked by a Rottweiler that was loose (normally behind a fence). He is in hospital, has had a general anaesthetic and surgery, IV antibiotics, 3 day min stay I have told them to report the dog (apparently dog is normally aggressive behind its fence). Kirislin
I think it will be reported as a matter of course whether they want to or not now that the person is in hospital. That's awful I hope he makes a full recovery.
Starkehre
Oh, that is such dreadful news. So upsetting for them. I do hope he recovers from surgery OK and your cousin and the dog are not too traumatised. This sort of thing just should not happen, just so wrong! Mrs Rusty Bucket
NSW has mandatory reporting for people who end up in Hospital from dog bites. Not sure what they do with the reports apart from collecting statistics for BSL. A report to council and maybe police should get some action against the attacking dog and its owner.
