Best Clipper Blades

Hi, I apologise if this topic has been done to the death but.....I want to pick your knowledgeable brain on which clippers are best and which blades you favour and what is the best way to keep blades sharp. Thank you

I have a good set of Andis clippers going cheap in the classified, my new dog is double coated so they are just being wasted.

Best value blades are Geib Buttercut best quality blades are Heiniger or Aesculap. To keep them sharp make sure they are not over tensioned (this is usually done by the sharpener), keep them oiled, running cool and try to clip a clean coat.

I had used Oster clippers for years but was not happy with them. I recently treated myself to a set of Heiniger Saffir cordless clippers and find them fantastic. They were not the cheapest set @ $365 but to date worth every $ and it takes me far less time to clip my dogs with them because a/ they are lighter b/ do not get hot and need to be let cool and c/ I don't have to grapple with the cord.

I use Andis clippers on my Bichon and terrier cross. They're far better than the Wahl 2KM I used to use, but they do still run hot at times.
