dotdashdot
Just wanted to share that I have received a copy of the flyer for the Grafton ET from a friend who has done it before and knows the lady running it. So I have all the info now :) Countdown is on now!
dotdashdot
Ok I have a question that my contact couldn't answer 100%. I just realized that you can use a harness in the trial, and as I have a Sporn harness, I'm wondering if that's allowable? I couldn't see it excluded specifically in the rules: "The dog must wear a fixed collar or suitable harness. No neck chains, slip collars, spiked collars, muzzles or head control collars shall be permitted." but I don't want to break the rules. Can anyone answer specifically? thanks

Not too familiar with the sporn harness, but think it should be allowable as long as it is a fixed harness. M

perfect partners
Isn't the Sporn harness one that tightens when the dog pulls? If so I doubt it would be allowable.
ish
Isn't the Sporn harness one that tightens when the dog pulls? If so I doubt it would be allowable. I agree with this - I don't think it would be allowed. I took one of mine on a Julius K9 harness which worked well for her Just done my entry for the GSDCV ET and really pleased to see another in Vic in a few months. I've got a very fit young girl who isn't 2 until July so that's perfect for her! Can I do 2 ETs in one year though?!!
dotdashdot
Yes it is one that tightens when they pull, which is why I was thinking no. I'll just assume it's disallowed and continue training as I have.

perfect partners
Well after a couple of weeks training, I've decided to postpone doing an ET until next year. I'm disappointed but we've just started trialling in rally and obedience and he was doing well but the endurance training made him a bit flat. Maybe I built up the distance a bit quickly because I started a bit late, so next year we'll start a lot earlier and build up more gradually. Good luck to all those doing ETs this year. I know what you mean PP. I was trialling in agility whilst training for an ET a few years ago and my dog was struggling a bit with the jump height... that said the jumps were significantly higher in those days too :D I will be doing an ET next year also. So, if you wish to do some general fitness and conditioning mid level training (bike work) and would like a partner, just let me know. For the next few months I will be continuing at just over 6km at a time and do this approx. once a week at Springers. Will start building up for ET around April next year. Recently a few of us have been getting together to bike and it has been terrific. We have our own little training crew :) Anyone is welcome.
